<p><strong>JACKSONVILLE</strong> — Deputies responded to a frantic 911 call from a local man reporting a theft of “approximately $400 worth of property.” Upon arrival, the man explained someone had broken into his shed and stolen his cannabis plants.</p>
<p>When officers explained they couldn’t file a theft report for illegal substances, the man demanded to speak to their supervisor, insisting he had “a receipt from the gas station for the seeds.”</p>
<p>“He was very persistent,” said Deputy Martinez. “He kept saying we should dust for prints and check security cameras. He even asked if we could bring in a K-9 unit.”</p>
<p>The man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after officers discovered his growing operation while investigating the alleged theft. He reportedly asked if he could still file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.</p>
