**Breaking News:** Florida Man Stars in Ill-Advised Action Hero Attempt During Arrest in Pennsylvania
Based on a true Florida story.
In an ambitious bid for the "Most Florida Thing to Happen Outside of Florida" award, a Florida man, wanted in Pennsylvania for less-than-cheerful reasons, decided to give the local deputies a live demo of "How Not to Get Arrested 101."
The individual in question, whose hobbies apparently include long walks on the beach, being the topic of conversation, and dodging serious legal repercussions, thought it would be a fantastic idea to try and impress the officers with his marksmanship during his own arrest. As per the sheriff, the deputies were not amused, failing to appreciate the impromptu gunplay, and demonstrated their own proficiency in "How to Deal with People Who Mistake Real Life for an Action Movie."
One can only imagine the Florida man, possibly inspired by too many action films, believed that if he channeled his inner action hero hard enough, he could escape the authorities with a cool explosion in the background. Sadly, reality proved less explosive and more quietly disappointing, much like the finale of some TV shows we won't mention.
The deputies, trained for such Floridian exports, managed to subdue the man without any injuries. It's rumored they're considering sending a thank-you note to Florida for sending such a lively training simulator their way, albeit one that probably won't be asked back for a sequel.
The lead deputy, skilled in the art of sarcasm and understatement, was quoted saying, "We prefer our criminals a tad less cinematic. It saves on paperwork and dry cleaning bills."
As for the Florida man, his dreams of starting a criminal mastermind blog titled "Shootouts and Sunshine" have been put indefinitely on hold. Instead, he's expected to feature in a less thrilling but much more educational series: "Why Resisting Arrest Is a Terrible Idea."
