<p><strong>JACKSONVILLE</strong> — Shortly after winning $250,000 in the state lottery, entrepreneur Wayne Douglas, 47, purchased 500 inflatable tube men and opened &#8220;Wayne&#8217;s World of Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Men.&#8221;</p> <p>The business failed within two weeks due to what Douglas calls &#8220;market saturation and a lack of vision from the community.&#8221;</p> <p>&#8220;People just don&#8217;t appreciate art anymore,&#8221; Douglas lamented while standing in his warehouse filled with deflated tube men. &#8220;I had a whole business plan. Different colors, different heights, even some with hats. The market just wasn&#8217;t ready.&#8221;</p> <p>When asked why he invested his entire lottery winnings in inflatable tube men, Douglas explained he &#8220;saw them at a car dealership and thought, why should they have all the fun?&#8221;</p> <p>He is now trying to sell the inventory on Craigslist, describing them as &#8220;slightly used&#8221; and &#8220;full of potential.&#8221; His ads emphasize that they&#8217;re &#8220;perfect for any occasion&#8221; including &#8220;car dealerships, going-out-of-business sales, and existential statements about the human condition.&#8221;</p> <p>Douglas has received three offers, all from other car dealerships looking for bulk discounts. He&#8217;s holding out for &#8220;someone who really gets the vision&#8221; and is considering writing a book about his experience titled &#8220;Inflated Expectations: A Cautionary Tale.&#8221;</p>
